Reports from The Cave 3-25-2015

Water Level: 15 feet above summer pool, falling half foot per day.

Water Clarity: muddy water in most cases some creeks clearling, wind direction in some bays have murked it back up.

Muskie Count: 33 have been caught out of The Muskie Lodge to date Largest 46, not great but not bad considering what Mother Nature is doing to us.

Well it’s been a little tougher than most springs so far for 2015 but the future looks brighter and April, May and June should make for some great fishing. So far it’s mainly been glides and jerks however a few has been taken on rattle baits when you can get to shallow water. The Super Rattlin Shads have taken some good fish just off deep flooded timber try bright colors in all baits in the muddy water. The Shum Shum baits have taken a lot of fish while mover very slowly, Sledges and Suicks also have proven themselfs worth throwing regularly. Concentrate on any flooded timber near spawning bays, go shallow with rattle baits when you can. In the last couple days crank baits in bright colors have caught fish.
